The RainBo Music Trust purchased a drum kit for Bideford Youth Club in 2021 with money raised through Bideford Music Day.

In 2023 The RainBo Music Trust used some of the money raised at Bideford Music Days 2023 to hold an all day event at Great Torrington Town Hall. This included a number of free Music Workshops and Live Performances.

Covid put a hold on many things, and as a relatively new charity it was a frustrating time. However, we managed to hold a Bideford Music Day despite everything that was going on, Livestreamed by Beep Media from The Palladium Club in Bideford, people were able to join the event from their homes.

Started in 2022 the RainBo Fun Run is a colour run taking place in Victoria Park at the very start of the Music Day weekend. The event is intended to raise funds towards the costs of producing Bideford Music Day.. Entrants run / walk around the park, passing 7 stations where they are covered in all the colours of the rainbow!
Bideford Music Day relies heavily on support from it's amazing volunteers. If you would like to get involved please get in touch! The Trust has successfully gained funding for volunteer training for 2024 from Devon County Council's Growing Fund. This will mean volunteers will undertake First Aid Training, Health and Safety Training, Customer Service Training and Radio Communication Training.

Huge Congratulations to Peter Lawrence who was elected Mayor last week!
We are honoured and excited to announce that Peter has chosen the RainBo Music Trust to be his Charity of the Year and he aims to raise £3,000 to be distributed between local schools (St Mary’s, East the Water and Westcroft) to be used for musical tuition / resources.
This is absolutely AMAZING and will really make a lasting impact on the children of Bideford!

Earlier this year, Seven Sundays of Sound brought young musicians together at The Palladium Club for six inspiring weeks of creativity, collaboration, and live music-making.
Running from Sunday 11th January to Sunday 22nd February 2026, this free programme welcomed 11–25 year olds of all abilities — from complete beginners to emerging performers — and gave them hands-on experience across every aspect of music creation and live event production.
Delivered by South West Event Management Solutions CIC, with funding support from Devon County Council and The RainBo Music Trust, the project created an accessible pathway into music performance and the live events industry.
Across six structured Sunday sessions (12–4pm), young people explored:
Participants rotated between workshops in two groups, ensuring everyone experienced multiple disciplines each week. Every session included a collaborative House Band Open Jam, providing optional performance opportunities in a supportive, professional setting.
All abilities were welcome — and beginners were actively encouraged.

Across six Sundays, participants took part in a structured rotation of practical, hands-on music workshops alongside optional sessions focused on planning and producing the final live showcase.
Each week combined instrumental development, vocal coaching, songwriting, rhythm work, and lyric writing with opportunities to explore sound technology and event production.
The programme included:
Together, these sessions built musical confidence, creative skills, and practical experience in how live events are produced.

The programme culminated in a live afternoon showcase (2–4pm) at The Palladium Club, Bideford, featuring performances from participants.
Importantly, the young people themselves:
Seven Sundays of Sound wasn’t just about learning instruments — it was about:
The atmosphere across the six weeks was energetic, inclusive, and collaborative. By the final showcase, participants had grown not only as performers, but as creators and producers.
The success of Seven Sundays of Sound demonstrated the demand for accessible, high-quality music opportunities for young people in our region.
We’re proud of every participant who stepped onto the stage, tried something new, or supported the event behind the scenes.
Stay tuned for future programmes and opportunities.
🎵 Come learn, perform, and shine. 🎵

Thank You to South West Event Management Solutions CIC for planning and organising this awesome event. We were proud to be able to put funding into the event and to be part of the Project. Thank You to Devon County Council's Places To Go Things To Do Fund which gave an amazing grant for £3,000 towards the Project. Without this support these events simply would not happen.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Emily and Lucy for their amazing plan to sell ear-rings at the Showcase Event. The ear-rings were awesome - hand crafted by Lucy, using plectrums to decorate them. The total raised from this was £44.34.
Other Donations on the day meant a total of £74.34 has been added to the RainBo pot for future events and workshops.

The next Project for RainBo is the Bideford Music Day.
We would love for the Young People from the Seven Sundays of Sound Project to perform at this event - please let us know if you would like to!
Music Day will be on the 27th June and will feature free music workshops and live music performances.

Kelly started singing at the age of 14 when she was approached by a school friend (who is now a professional producer and musician) to perform a charity song to be recorded in aid of CLIC. This was a great success and became her first steps into the recording world. When she was 19 years old she was a writer and featured vocalist on a song entitled "Just For Me", which was a rave/dance track. This was played around the UK rave scene to great acclaim and was a commercial success.
Motherhood followed and music took a back seat for several years. She then started her own professional karaoke business and sang live solo performances for the Brend Hotels which included supporting Elkie Brooks and The Wurzels! Kelly went on to form her own performing arts school for young people learning how to express themselves through music, dance and acting. This was named the "Edge Performing Arts Academy".
She has since achieved a degree in music performance, developed her songwriting abilities (several professionally recorded tracks on Spotify and Youtube) and is the lead singer for the busy and popular local band "Back In The Room", Songwriting remains her great passion and she continues to create original material at will. Kelly still teaches singing informally and loves to encourage others with their musical development, running a local singing and social group named "The Alternative Voices" Kelly's life has been inspired by music on a daily basis and this lives in unison with the love of her family.
